Biography

A little about me
|
I was born in Coventry, England to a French mother and Manx Father, and moved to the Isle of Man in 1997. As long as I can remember my interests have been related to design, from automotive to furniture, but I also kept an interest in other forms of creativity such as photography and music, learning several instruments. Much of what I knew about design was self taught till the age of seventeen, when I began to attend specialist courses to develop particular skills such as drawing. In 2004 I left secondary school and explored several career options including automotive design, and completed a foundation course at the Isle of Man College, concentrating on architecture as a subject. This, along with a fascination of architecture, has formed the basis for my current career. I have recently completed a Bachelor Degree in Architectural Studies at the Mackintosh School of Architecture in Glasgow, a course that has taught me to develop and manipulate space to achieve different practical and aesthetic effects, to employ technology to generate ecological solutions to design problems, and how to address urban context and public realm in large scale proposals. I intend to complete full training to become a qualified architect and am currently seeking RIBA Part One employment as an Architectural Assistant during my year out. |
