A little about me

As long as I can remember my interests have been related to design, but I also kept an interest in other forms of creativity such as photography and music, learning several instruments.

Much of what I knew about design was self taught till the age of seventeen, when I began to attend specialist courses to develop particular skills such as drawing. In 2004 I left Ramsey Grammar School on ther Isle of Man and explored several career options including automotive design, attending Coventry University for a time, and in 2005 completed a foundation course at the Isle of Man College, concentrating on architecture as a subject, where I first generated considered architectural proposals. This, along with a fascination of architecture, has formed the basis for my chosen career path.

I moved to Glasgow in 2005 to attend the Mackintosh School of Architecture, part of the Glasgow School of Art, funding part of my course with employment at Kay Associates and freelance visualising work for other architectural practices. I completed the Bachelor Degree (B.Arch) course at the Mac in 2008.

I moved back to the Isle of Man in 2008 and was offered a position with Ellis Brown Architects, where I carried out several planning and building regulation applications. I was then offered a position on the pst-graduate course at Liverpool John Moores University, which I am working to complete in 2012. I intend to complete full training to become a qualified architect and am currently seeking opportunities for Summer 2011 to complete my PEDR requirements.
